Tsunami Evacuation
In the event of a tsunami, or any other unexpected event, the “Person Responsible” will supervise the evacuation of all children and adults from every Preschool building (Sleep Room, Office, Staffroom, and Playroom) and outdoor playground.
Children will be gathered together, and then walk up to Bedford Parade (in line with the Big Rock School procedure). Prams can be used for under two’s, if necessary.
A laminated notice will be placed on the whiteboard to let whānau know that we have evacuated the buildings, and where we are.
All children, and any visitors, will be accounted for as they leave the back gate by the sleeproom, and they will be marked off the roll. Another roll will be taken on arrival.
The Preschool cell phone, the emergency kit, and the excursion bag (complete with whānau contact details) will be taken by the Person Responsible.
We will follow directions from Civil Defense.
Every 6 months staff and children will walk up to Bedford Parade to practice.
