Supervision Plan

Supervision Plan
Little Rock Preschool is licensed for 30 children, with up to 10 under 2’s.
The preschool employs two fully ECE trained permanent teachers, three fully ECE trained part time teachers and two untrained teachers (one with a Primary Qualification), therefore the preschool is often overstaffed which is a management decision to encourage increased quality interactions, supervision, and learning.
Adult:child ratios are totally maintained over lunch breaks and off floor profile time due to these being placed at times when the centre is overstaffed.
The playground is situated to the side of the centre and at all times children will be supervised in this area.
The area outside the main door is a difficult area to supervise and both inside and outside teachers need to be aware of this and supervise it regularly.
The main play room is an open area and easily scanned by teachers and the teachers will be situated in this area as ratios decide.
The children’s bathroom and nappy change area can be monitored from the main playroom.
The sleep room is monitored by staff by the use of a beeper that beeps every ten minutes and a staff member physically checks the children in the sleep room and signs and notes the time on the sleep chart. A baby monitor that has two way communication, as well as video surveillance, is on at all times for increased child and teacher safety.
