Cleaning and Laundry

Little Rock Preschool will launder the following items:

 

• Facecloths
• Bibs
• Red cloths for cleaning art
• Yellow cloths for cleaning tables
• Dish cloths
• Floor mats/Rugs
• Table Cloths
• Spare hats/jackets
• Towels – white for floor, coloured for body
• Tea towels
• Bedding
• Dress ups
• Soft toys
• Cushion covers

 

Face cloths, bibs, cloths, table cloths, towels, and tea towels will be washed daily as needed.

Bedding for the children is to be washed once a week, or more regularly if soiled.  Each child has their own personal bedding kept in a named basket.

Mattress covers and beds will be wiped down with disinfectant every Friday.

Dress ups and family area blankets are washed regularly, or when obviously soiled.

Tables are to be wiped down with vinegar and water with a yellow cloth.  Art is cleaned up with red cloth, and Jif, if necessary.

Toys will be soaked in laundry tub with hot water and disinfectant for ten minutes.

Laundry will be dried on the clothes racks, on fence, or overhead drying rack.

Laundry will be soaked in nappy san during the day, before washing, if necessary.

To adhere to tikanga practices we will ensure that we wash appropriate items together:

Items that can be washed together

• Bibs, Tablecloths, Tea towels, Facecloths and Yellow Dishcloths
• Floor Towels and Red Art Cloths
• Body Towels, Jackets, Clothing, Dress-ups (wash as needed)

Items to be washed on their own

• Bedding (wash every Friday) Hats (wash as needed, or end of season)   Cushions (wash as needed)
