Alternative Evacuation

The protection and safety of all concerned must be the first consideration.

Plan One

Where a dangerous situation occurs outdoors, ie- someone dangerous enters the grounds –

-Inside teachers, if possible, to gather all the inside children and move through fire exit door (by carpark) to office, where the door can be locked, and all windows covered.  Take the sign in sheet if possible

-Do a roll call.

-Ring 111.

If unable to get outside

-gather the children in the hallway/toilet area to keep out of view as much as possible.

If children are outside, outside teacher will gather children behind shed and keep together, if possible.

Follow this plan if a dangerous situation occurs indoors and all the children are inside, follow plan one.

Plan Two

Where a dangerous situation occurs indoors and is witnessed by outside staff,

they will –

-Gather children behind shed and keep together.

-Count number of children.
